Posing Dogu

Handcrafted by the family-run atelier behind Dogu Nova Studio in Gunma Prefecture, this figure is inspired by the expressive human forms of Japan’s Jōmon period.

The seated pose, simplified facial features and sculptural proportions reinterpret the character of ancient Dogu through a more playful and contemporary form.

Each piece is individually shaped and finished by hand, with the natural texture of the clay and slight irregularities making every figure unique.
