Ko-Daruma by Daisuke Anayama #4
This month, exclusively at Galerie 21, Yuthanan takes you on a journey into the art of Daisuke Anayama and his iconic Darumas. Each piece is uniquely crafted by hand in the artist's studio in Seto, Aichi, following its distinct process.
This Daruma was fired in an open flame, using mountain wood instead of a kiln, allowing it to naturally take on black and gray tones. Through the unpredictable process of field-firing, it embodies the raw connection between fire and earth. Embracing nature's untamed forces, it symbolizes transformation, freedom, and the land’s deep memory, emerging with a quiet yet compelling presence.
