This month, exclusively at Galerie 21, Yuthanan takes you on a journey into the art of Daisuke Anayama and his iconic Darumas. Each piece is uniquely crafted by hand in the artist's studio in Seto, Aichi, following its distinct process.

This black pottery Daruma is created through a sealed firing with rice husks, which imparts its profound, velvety black tone. Embodying the spirit of Fueki Ryūkō constancy and change it balances timeless tradition with a modern sensibility. The surface, polished with metal, achieves a subtle sheen, resulting in a Daruma that radiates quiet resilience through its stillness.
