Iroha Uta Ceramic Plate

A ceramic plate featuring handwritten passages from the Iroha Uta, the classical Japanese poem traditionally used to teach kana. Made during the Showa era, the piece is decorated in cobalt blue underglaze brushwork and displays irregular edges and firing marks characteristic of studio pottery.
