Goggle-eyed Dogu
¥165,000Price
Handcrafted by the family-run atelier behind Dogu Nova Studio in Gunma Prefecture, this figure takes inspiration from the iconic goggle-eyed Dogu of Japan’s Jōmon period.
Its form reinterprets the distinctive oversized eyes, elaborate headpiece and decorated body found in ancient Dogu figures, while the deep black finish gives the piece a strong contemporary presence.
Each piece is individually shaped and finished by hand, with subtle variations in surface and form giving every figure its own character.
