Artifact #8
This series pays tribute to Finland’s most iconic tech brand, Nokia. We were invited to Helsinki last September to present these artifacts, conceived as a bridge connecting Japan and Finland.
“Artifacts” is a project dedicated to recontextualizing overlooked ceramics from Japan’s Showa era. Sourced by Yuthanan through extensive travels across the country, each piece is carefully selected for its historical and aesthetic value. The concept of incorporating logos does not originate from us but draws inspiration from a vintage Sony marketing campaign in the 1950s, in which "Sony" tea sets were given away to customers. To pay homage to this campaign, however, no Sony logos are used in our collection.
This project has been brought to life in collaboration with the painter and artist Noor ul Aien, who meticulously hand-painted each piece freehand
