Antique Turned Wooden Lidded Container

Old Japanese lidded wooden container with a cylindrical form defined by a series of horizontal carved rings. The fitted lid continues the concentric decoration, creating a simple architectural profile. The surface has developed deep brown tones, areas of wear and a pronounced patina over time.
