Artifact #5
"Artifacts" is a creative endeavor that involves repurposing ceramic pieces from Japan's Showa era. Yuthanan embarked on a journey throughout Japan to uncover these overlooked and often forgotten relics of craftsmanship. By adorning them with well-known brand logos, the aim is not to commercialize but rather to breathe new life into these exquisite works, encouraging a renewed appreciation of their beauty. Instead of purchasing new ceramics, why not invest in these historic artifacts reimagined with a contemporary flair?
The concept of incorporating logos does not originate from us but draws inspiration from a vintage Sony marketing campaign in the 1950s, in which "Sony" tea sets were given away to customers. To pay homage to this campaign, however, no Sony logos are used in our collection.
This project has been brought to life in collaboration with the painter and artist Noor ul Aien, who meticulously hand-painted each piece freehand
